Mesa Miners News Release
MESA, ARIZONA âThe Mesa Miners announced today their 2005 spring training schedule. The Miners will play 7 preseason games with 6 of them being played at their home field, HoHoKam Park in Mesa. The lone road game will be played across the Valley at Surprise Stadium when the Miners face the Chico Outlaws on May 20.
There will be two FREE games at HoHoKam Park that are open to the public for viewing: May 17 vs. Chico and May 22 vs. San Diego. Both games are scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m. and fans do not need a ticket for entrance.
"We are very excited about the opportunity to make two games available to the public for free," said Miners general manager Becky Thielen. "It will be a great chance for the fans to get familiar with the team and ballpark at no cost. This is just one of many fan-friendly promotions that the Miners will offer throughout the season. As the Valley will soon discover, the Golden Baseball League is an affordable, exciting entertainment option for the whole family."
The Miners will play their spring training games against three different opponents--the Outlaws, San Diego Surf Dawgs, and the Surprise Fightin' Falcons. The 2005 spring training schedule for the Miners is listed below:
