Phoenix Mercury News Release
PHOENIX - The Phoenix Mercury today announced its schedule for the Western Conference Semifinals. The Mercury's opponent and time for Game 1 is still to be determined; however, the dates of play have been confirmed with the team's first postseason appearance taking place on the road on Sept. 17.
Phoenix, the West's No. 1 seeded team, will return home to host the fourth seed in the West on Saturday, Sept. 19 at 7 p.m. at US Airways Center. If necessary, Phoenix will host Game 3 two days later on Sept. 21 at 7 p.m.
The first contest will be telecast live on ESPN2 with Game 2 airing live on NBA TV and returning to ESPN2 for Game 3.
The Mercury owns a three-game lead over the second-place Seattle Storm, while the Los Angeles Sparks currently sit in the third playoff spot. The San Antonio Silver Stars and Minnesota Lynx are currently tied (14-18) for the fourth and final berth in the West. In the event of a tie, San Antonio will earn the postseason trip thanks to a 3-1 advantage in the season series over Minnesota.
