The Xplorers hope to break their four-game losing streak when they face the Louisville Fire, and Memphis general manager GREG GRIIFFITH has guaranteed victory. Memphis head coach DANTON BARTO seeks for his tenth win, as quarterback ROD ROBINSON looks to add to his 1,221 passing yards and 24 touchdowns. Offensive specialist KEVIN PRENTISS leads the af2 in scoring touchdowns with 17, including six vs. Tulsa on May 3rd. The Fire is coming off of a thrilling victory against Birmingham in which kicker and game MVP MARC SAMUEL hit a field goal with seconds left in the fourth quarter to earn the win. Louisville defensive specialist ARKEE THOMPSON is second in the league in interceptions with six, while DEMETRIUS FORNEY shares the same spot in sacks with five. The teams face off once again on June 21st.
HAWAIIAN NIGHT
Hawaiian Night debuts this weekend at the Desoto Civic Center, located just over the Mississippi border from Memphis. This Saturday night, when the Xplorers battle the Louisville Fire all fans will receive a Hawaiian lei at the door and at halftime the University of Mississippi steel drum band will perform. Hawaiian themed food will be available in the Xplorers Club.
"Hawaiian night with the Xplorers will be a real party," said Xplorers General Manager Greg Griffith. "Not only do you get a free Hawaiian lei at the door, we have a great band for halftime. We realize there are no palm trees in DeSoto County, but you'll get a great taste of Hawaii with the Xplorers. Bring your grass skirt and watch the Xplorers put out the Louisville Fire this Saturday."
GUARANTEED WIN NIGHT AGAINST LOUISIVLLE
The Memphis Xplorers are taking bold steps this weekend as the Louisville Fire come to town. Xplorers General Manager Greg Griffith has declared this Saturday night as "Guaranteed Win Night".
"We're so sure about this Saturday's game against Louisville that we are guaranteeing a victory," said Griffith. "The Xplorers will win this Saturday night against the Fire without a shadow of a doubt in my mind."
If the Xplorers for some odd chance do not win this Saturday night against Louisville, every fan that buys a ticket to the game will receive a free ticket to the Friday, May 30th, game against the Bossier City Battle Wings. If the Xplorers lose to Louisville, fans can redeem their ticket stubs for a complimentary ticket of equal or lesser value at the DCC box office. Just present your ticket stub at the DCC box office before Friday, May 30th, and get a free ticket of equal or lesser value for the game against Bossier City.
