MEMPHIS, TN - The Memphis Redbirds dropped game one of a six-game series against the Indianapolis Indians on Tuesday night by a final score of 7-4.

First baseman Luken Baker blasted his 12th home run of the year to get the scoring started in the top of the second inning, a low line drive out to left field. The home run would the Redbirds only run until the top of the eighth inning.

In the meantime, Indianapolis would strike for seven runs, five of which came to score in the bottom of the seventh inning against reliever Angel Rondon.

Memphis would take a couple steps closer in the eighth, when shortstop Paul DeJong brought his home run total to double digits with a two-run blast to make the score 7-3. Center fielder Ben DeLuzio placed a two-out RBI triple in the top of the ninth to finish the scoring.

Starting pitcher Jordan Hicks made his first Major League rehab appearance with Memphis since going on the injured list with a right forearm injury. The right-handed pitcher faced three batters in one inning of work, walked one batter and rolled a double play.

The Memphis Redbirds (38-29) return to Victory Field to continue a six-game series against the Indianapolis Indians on Wednesday, June 22 for a 12:35 p.m. CDT first pitch.
