
Memorial Hospital At Gulfport To Provide Medical Care For Sea Wolves

BILOXI, MS - The Mississippi Sea Wolves announced today that Memorial Hospital at Gulfport has been named the team's official health care provider. The partnership will provide the Sea Wolves with full medical care including the assignment of a medical staff and exclusive use of a certified athletic trainer.
"The Sea Wolves are pleased to be affiliated with Memorial Hospital during the upcoming season." states Bill Yates, president of the Sea Wolves. He adds, "We expect our players to receive the best possible medical care and are confident that Memorial Hospital will meet those expectations."
Memorial Hospital is a modern facility with more than 440 beds, offering the most advanced technology and services available on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Their health care professionals remain in the forefront of modern healing with a medical staff comprised of more than 275 physicians representing more than 40 medical specialties.
Memorial Hospital's Administrative Director of Neurosciences and Rehabilitation, Kent Nicaud, says "The Sea Wolves are an important part of the community and Memorial Hospital will utilize our extensive resources and expert medical staff to provide first rate medical care."
Orthopedic Surgeon Eric Letonoff, D.O. will lead the team's medical staff. Additionally, Memorial Hospital has assigned B.J. Leyser to serve as the team's certified athletic trainer. Leyser is a 2006 graduate of Central Michigan University with a degree in Athletic Training. He spent the 2007-2008 season with the Tulsa Oilers of the Central Hockey League and also spent time as an intern with Omaha of the American Hockey League.
About the staff, Nicaud states, "Dr. Letonoff has an extensive hockey background and, as a former player, has a more acute understanding of the medical issues the Sea Wolves players may face. B.J. Leyser comes with very high recommendations and we expect him to fit in well with the Sea Wolves."
