Memorial Cup Unveils Platinum Sponsors

Brandon, Manitoba - The Brandon Host Organizing Committee for the 2010 MasterCard Memorial Cup is excited to unveil its five Platinum Sponsors for the 11-day Championship, scheduled for May 14-23rd at the Keystone Centre.

As Platinum Partners of the national championship of the Canadian Hockey League, Manitoba Public Insurance, Manitoba Hydro, Manitoba Liquor Marts, MTS and Manitoba Lotteries have made significant sponsorship contributions to this prestigious event, including providing extensive advertising and promotional avenues to the local host committee.

While MTS will serve as the Title Presenting Sponsor of the 2010 Memorial Cup Golf Tournament on Thursday, May 20th at Clear Lake, Manitoba Public Insurance will present the Canadian Hockey League School Exhibit, to be open to the public throughout the 11-day Championship in the Brandon Curling Club.

The Hockey Hall of Fame Gold Medal package will be on display in the UCT Pavillion, courtesy of Manitoba Hydro. Manitoba Lotteries will present the CHL Awards Ceremony on Saturday, May 22nd in the Westman Centennial Auditorium and Manitoba Liquor Marts will host the Opening Night Banquet scheduled for Thursday, May 13th in the Victoria Inn Grand Salon.

In addition to the five Platinum Sponsors, the Local Host Committee is pleased to welcome Subway, Molson and Manitoba Homecoming as Premier Sponsors of the event.

Subway will serve as Title Presenting Sponsor of the Memorial Cup Village, Molson has announced plans to transform the Keystone Centre's Manitoba Room into the Molson Canadian Hockey House, made famous recently at the Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver, while Manitoba Homecoming is pleased to present two exciting Saturday Night Socials starring Randy Bachman on May 15th and Tom Cochrane on May 22nd. Memorial Cup Opening Gala - Presented by Manitoba Liquor Marts;

The Opening Banquet introduces the teams and honours their accomplishments throughout the hockey season. The 2010 banquet will feature a made-in-Manitoba menu and will bring to life the theme of the event "Where Tradition Meets Tomorrow" Serving as master of ceremonies will be CTV's Leah Hextall.

Manitoba Hydro Hockey Hall of Fame;

The Hockey Hall of Fame will be on display, admission free, for all ten days of the MasterCard Memorial Cup! Everyone is invited to experience the Legends of Hockey exhibit, numerous NHL, WHL and Brandon Wheat King trophies on display (including the Stanley Cup on May 19th), photo collections and interactive games.

Subway Memorial Cup Village;

The Subway Memorial Cup Village will be the community celebration that engages everyone in the excitement that surrounds this major, national sporting event. Open daily, the Village will be admission free and will inspire visitors to experience the contribution that hockey has made to our community and country!

CHL School Exhibits - Presented by Manitoba Public Insurance;

Grade 5 and 6 students have been hard at work throughout the winter of 2010, doing research and compiling projects that will feature the 60 CHL teams and the communities that they call home - whether it's the Rimouski Oceanic, the Barrie Colts or the Prince George Cougars.

2010 Memorial Cup Golf Tournament - Presented by MTS;

Known as a must-play course in the province, Clear Lake Golf Course in scenic Riding Mountain National Park will host an unforgettable day of golf on Thursday, May 20th. Nearly 150 golfers will take aim at the MTS Memorial Cup Trophy.

Canadian Hockey League Awards - Presented by Manitoba Lotteries:

Honouring the accomplishments of the best players in the Canadian Hockey League, this special event will see ten awards handed out to deserving players and will feature fantastic Manitoba entertainment, starring Brandon's own Amanda Stott.

Molson Canadian Hockey House;

Located in the Manitoba Room of the Keystone Centre, Molson Hockey House will be the place to party throughout the Memorial Cup! Enjoy free entry on all nights with the exception of the two Saturday Night Socials, starring Randy Bachman on May 15th and Tom Cochrane on May 22nd.
