Meet Maywood Buzz guard Darwin 'DC' Carter

Maywood, CA - The Maywood Buzz today annouced that Guard Darwin Carter has been named it's player of the week. Darwin has been on fire since the start of the New Year. He is at 34.3ppg in the last nine games as well as a 53pt game vs the Orange County Gladiators which is a new Buzz team scoring record. He is also right at about 7 assist, 4 steals and 4 rebounds a game. "It has been hard this season, I mean i will trade the 50pt game, the 34.3ppg in the last nine for a few wins. We have been in many games and just cant get over that hunt. We hope this weekend we can win a couple and make a run for the playoffs", stated Carter.

Darwin who was 4 years ago the first Belizan born player to play in the ABA we he played with the Los Angeles Stars and the following year with the LA Aftershock. He has played the last 2 seasons with the Buzz. Darwin who also has played on the Belizan National Team, is a 4 time MVP in the Belizan Pro Basketball League. Played his high school basketball at Manuel Arts in Los Angeles and college at Middle Tennesse State and Angelo State.

"I know this has be really tough on this kid this season. He is a winner and has been here since day one fighting every game and taking ever lost to heart. If we can jump start this team this weekend and grab a few wins and make a playoff run, it would have all been worth it" added Buzz GM and Head Coach Burrel Lee III. "Even it we dont make it, Darwin knows his teammates as well as himself gave a 110% every night we stepped on the court" says Lee.

You can catch Darwin and the Buzz this Saturday night at 7:30pm at the Maywood Activity Center as they take on the San Diego Wildcats wh are ranked #5 in the ABA. NIKE is also looking at sponsoring Darwin outfitting him and signing him to a contract.
