McLain comes with experience

The Tulsa Talons of the arenafootball2 (af2) league has officially been assigned C.J. McLain. McLain, (6'4", 250 lbs) joins the Talons for another year of arena ball after playing the last seven seasons at both the af2 and AFL levels.

McLain finished off a successful season with the Arkansas Twisters in 06 with 40.5 total tackles, 20.5 tackles for a loss of 88 yards and a team high with 14.5 sacks. In 2005, McLain was the only Twisters player to earn All-af2 honors.

"He is very athletic and plays a great defensive game," said General Manager, Co-Owner Henry Primeaux. "His arena experience will be a huge asset to the team".

He started his pro career with the Twisters in 2000, after a very successful college career in Arkansas. The former Razorback lettered three years in football under former Hogs' coach Danny Ford and current coach Houston Nutt. He only played in seven games his senior year at Arkansas, but was named fourth leading tackler with 50.

McLain had 120 tackles with 17 quarterback sacks and three interceptions as a senior at Madison Central High in Madison Mississippi, where he earned All-Metro, All-District and second team All-State honors. He also lettered in track and basketball.
