MBFC Announces Initial 2024 Roster Decisions

SEASIDE, California - Monterey Bay Football Club has announced several initial roster moves today. As of now, the team is returning 15 players from the 2023 squad, pending league and federation approval, with conversations ongoing to return others.

Forward Chase Boone, midfielder Simon Dawkins, forward Alex Dixon, defender Morey Doner, midfielder Mobi Fehr, forward Sam Gleadle, defender Kai Greene, defender Grant Robinson, goalkeeper Antony Siaha, and midfielder and Watsonville native Adrian Rebollar all own guaranteed contracts for the upcoming 2024 campaign.

Monterey Bay F.C. has also exercised the contract options for the following players: defender Max Glasser, goalkeeper Carlos Herrera, defender Alex Lara, forward Jesse Maldonado, and defender and Santa Cruz native Walmer Martínez. All five players are set to return to Seaside next season.

The Club has declined the contract options for midfielder Rafael Baca, midfielder James Murphy, and veteran defender Hugh Roberts II. However, Monterey Bay F.C. is in discussion with both Baca - who joined the Club from Liga MX side Cruz Azul this past July - and Murphy on new terms.

Furthermore, Monterey Bay F.C. has released forward Christian Volesky from his contract, while three 2023 acquisitions - midfielder Jesus Enríquez, forward Ugo Okoli, and midfielder Nevello Yoseke - are currently out of contract heading into the new league year.
