Maywood Buzz to Play Exhibition Game

Maywood, CA - Maywood Buzz General Manager Burrel Lee III announced this afternoon that the Maywood Buzz will play an exhibition game vs Semi Pro Inc., out of Covina, California. The game will take place on Saturday, September 27th, 2008 at 6:00pm and will be played at the Maywood Activity Center, located at 4801 East 58th Street, Maywood, CA 90270 (323) 562-5020.
"We have a few players that we are looking at and a few returning players and what better way to see them but during a game situation" stated Lee. "This should be a great game as we will play the game under NBA Rules and both rosters have some great local talent as well as a few celebs playing" added Lee.
Semi Pro Inc., who are coached by Donald Sanchies and will be bringing former USC standout and former NBA player Jeff Trepagnier (6'5 Guard), 2007-2008 ABA All-Star Ken Wright (6'2 Guard), 2-time Hoop It Up League MVP Jason Sanchies (6'2 Guard). Semi Pro Inc., will also have Hip Hop/Rapper mega star The Game (Jason Taylor) who played high school ball at Compton High School and had a basketball scholarship to Washington State University. Game who is a 6'4 Guard/Forward can really play basketball, shoots well and plays above the rim along with Trepagnier.
The Buzz who are coached by Lee will counter with 2007-2008 ABA All-Star Darwin Carter (6'1 Guard), 2005-2006 ABA All-Star Kevin 'Bean' Bradley (6'3 Guard), 2008 ABA Finalist Jamal Kendrick (6'8 Forward) who played with the San Diego Wildcats last season, 6'4 Guard sharpshooter JR Reese who torched the Drew League this summer in route to leading his team to the championship and 6'3 Rookie Joey Saavedra another sharpshooter for the Buzz who looks to have a breakout season this year.
Tickets for the Exhibition Basketball Game will be only $1.00 with all proceeds going to the Buzz Basketball Club Youth Teams as they begin their fundraising for a youth tournament in Hawaii in the summer of 2009.
