
Maye Tabbed As Pitching Coach

EDINBURG, Texas - The Edinburg Roadrunners of the United League Baseball announced today the hiring of pitching coach Steve Maye for the upcoming 2013 season.
Maye is a former first round draft pick of the Chicago Cubs and 14th overall in the secondary phase of the June Major League Baseball draft of 1984.
Maye spent the first four years in the Cubs organization before signing with the Oakland Athletics in 1988 where he reached the double-A level.
In 1991, Maye would continue his professional career in Japan for two seasons and in Mexico where he was member of the team that participated in the Caribbean World Series.
After his stint outside of the United States, Maye would return to sign with the California Angels where he made the 40-man roster in 1994. He would retire in 1995 from professional baseball.
"Steve Maye has the knowledge, demeanor and communication skills that make him a valuable asset to the Edinburg Roadrunners coaching staff." said field manager Ozzie Canseco. "Maye still loves the game of baseball and is eager to be part of it at any level."
