
Mavericks Play Gold/Red Game

Southeast Texas Mavericks News Release
The Southeast Texas Mavericks have been working in Training Camp now going into their second week. Twenty players started camp vying for twelve roster spots to begin the 2010-11 Season. That number is now down to seventeen players and on Friday that will be cut to fourteen.
This Thursday evening the Mavericks will have their annual Gold/Red Game. This year the game will be played at the LL Melton Center in Beaumont, TX. Admission will be $5.00. Tip-off will be at 7:30 PM. All money raised from the game will go to the Melton Center for development of the Center for the Community.
Maverick Players will be available after the game to sign autographs for the fans.
This season's Mavericks Training Camp has been extremely competitive! The Mavericks brought in nine former ABA All-Stars and ALL-ABA Players. Also, four former ABA or CBA MVP's have participated in the Mavs Training Camp. Among those players has been reigning ABA MVP Josh Pace.
Other top ABA players such as Odell Bradley (former CBA MVP), Desmond Cambridge, Myles Thrash, Josh Cooperwood, DeRon Rutledge (former ABA MVP), Jermaine Blackburn (reigning Co-SW Division MVP), Alex Sanders, and Gus Chase are participating in this year's Training Camp.
The Mavericks will finish their Training Camp on November 10th and will host the Texas Hurricanes in their opening game at their new NJEC Arena on Thursday night, November 11, 2010. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 PM.
