PORTSMOUTH- The Seacoast Mavericks were defeated by the Old Orchard Beach Raging Tide on Saturday evening at Leary Field with the final score being 4-3.
Winning pitcher, Cole Bryant (Southern Connecticut) pitched seven strong innings of two run ball. He gave up three hits, walked one and struck out nine on the evening. Andy Ogburn (Rollins College) recorded the save, pitching 1.2 innings of no hit ball. He struck out one in the process.
OOB offense was led by Jason Vosler (Northeastern University) who went 3-5 on the night with one RBI and one run scored. Sam Balzano (University of Maine) went 2-5 on the evening with one run scored. Grayson Porter (Baylor University) went 1-4 on the evening with one RBI and one run scored.
Chris O'Hare (Yale) pitched admirably in his first outing as a Maverick. O'Hare pitched 6.2 innings of four run ball (one earned) and gave up eight hits. He also struck out seven batters. Gabe May (UMass) was effective in relief, giving up only one walk and no hits throughout 2.1 innings pitched. He struck out five in the process.
Spencer Marentette (Oakland University) continued to produce for The Mavs scoring a run and driving in a RBI. Aiden O'Leary (Manhattan) went 1-3 with a run scored. Casey Cotter (Merrimack College) also went 1-3 with a run scored.
