Maulers schedule tryouts

Montgomery AL - Montgomery Maulers player tryouts are scheduled for Saturday January 29, 2005 at Velocity Sports Performance. Players wishing to tryout for the team should report at 10:00 AM for registration. There is a $40 tryout fee. Velocity Sports is located at 181 Eastern Blvd in Montgomery. Owner Jamie LaMunyon said she is very pleased with the Maulers association with Velocity Sports Performance. "Velocity has an excellent facility and their quality training attitude fits perfectly with our intentions to develop a winning team in Montgomery." She said.
The Montgomery Maulers is a 2005-expansion team of the National Indoor Football League. The Maulers home field is Garrett Coliseum, 1555 Federal Drive. The team owner, Jamie LaMunyon is a forth year owner in the NIFL. The first home game for the Maulers is April 2, 2005 when the Lake Charles Swashbucklers travel to Alabama.

The National Indoor Football League is in its 5th year with 25 teams located around the nation. The league is divided into two conferences, the Atlantic conference and the Pacific conference
each with three divisions. The Montgomery Maulers share the Atlantic Conference Central Division with the Rome Renegades of Rome, Ga. and the Fayetteville Heat of Fayetteville, N.C. The NIFL season is March through June with playoff games and the championship Indoor Bowl in July.
