
Strong NFL presence highlight winter NIFL Orlando meetings

Orlando FL - Day two of the National Indoor Football League's Winter meetings were highlighted by a surprise visit from Jerry Jones, owner of the Dallas Cowboys, NFL. Jones visit followed day ones by Ron Baines, NFL Director of Officials. (right, Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones with several NIFL members)
Mr. Jones talked about his early days as the Cowboys owner and the work and dedication required for a teams success on and off the field. He also talked about the National Football Leagues search for an acceptable format for football as an Olympic event and eluded to indoor football as a strong consideration.
Mr. Jones inspired NIFL owners and staff more on top of an already very successful two days of meetings. Indications by Mr. Jones and Mr. Baines we're both very strong that the eyes of the NFL are on the development NIFL in the professional world of football.
Ron Baines, in day one, spoke of the NFL's partnership with the NIFL and the plan to raise the level of officiating in the NIFL by outlining procedures put in place, including 4 regional supervisors to watch over each of the four NIFL divisions. Also discussed was the upgrading of game firm to include 2 views, which would allow the NFL to review and grade every game on a play by play basis.
Other topics on the two day agenda featured discussion of rule and rule clarifications, communication and cooperation between teams and between the teams and the league, branding of NIFL and team merchandise, national advertising, video web casting, travel issues, game promotion and the Sports for Education program.
All concluded that this was the most successful meeting in the leagues history!
