Montgomery Bears News Release

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Montgomery Maulers will head to Beaumont, Texas for a road rematch with the Beaumont Drillers.

The last time the two teams met Montgomery defeated the Drillers 56-43, which also gave the Maulers a first place spot in the Central Division of the Atlantic Conference.

Montgomery has made changes on defense that has dramatically improved the team as a whole. Montgomery is on a four game win streak and has not lost since May 7 when they dropped a game to Dayton at home. The Maulers have also broken their four game road losing streak when they defeated Lakeland last Saturday.

Beaumont started the season 4-1 but has not been able to come up with a win as of late and is currently on a seven game losing streak.

"It doesn't matter if you have a losing streak or a winning streak. It's the game in front of you that counts and is not to be underestimated," head coach James Shiver.

The game will be broadcast on WVAS 90.7 with kickoff set for 7 p.m. CDT and A.A. Moore of Alabama State will have the play-by-play.
