Matt Jordan and Dallas Burn Comment on Goalkeeper's Move To Denmark

DALLAS - On February 22, former Burn goalkeeper Matt Jordan signed a contract for the 2003-2004 season with Odense Boldklub of the Danish Superliga. In his five years with the Burn, Jordan amassed a 52-46-15 record with 30 shutouts while leading the team to the playoffs all four years as a starter. Following are statements from Jordan as well as from Burn President and General Manager Andy Swift regarding Jordan's departure.

"I would like to thank the Dallas Burn and Major League Soccer for a great five seasons. I am very proud of the hard work that the team and the Dallas organization have done to establish a great tradition for soccer, not only in Dallas but also in the United States. I am very proud to have represented a team that year after year has proven to be one of the most consistent teams throughout the history of the league."

"When I look back at my time with the Burn, I think about all the games we won, working together as an honest group of hard working players. More importantly, I think of all the strong friendships I have established with not only great players but great people."

"I would like to thank our fans and the Dallas soccer community for all of their unconditional support throughout the years. When I first came to the Burn, they embraced me and have been behind me ever since. These memories will always hold a special place in the hearts of myself and my wife Lori."

"I cannot say enough about how I have always appreciated the help I have received from the past and present Dallas Burn staff. A special thanks goes to Dave Dir and his staff as well as Mike Jeffries, Colin Clarke, Brian Haynes, Armando Pelaez and especially Krys Sobieski. In addition, I'd like to thank General Manger Andy Swift and his hard working staff."

"Although I have loved playing here in the MLS, I have always wanted to experience living and playing in another country. I look forward to the challenge of playing for a club with such a rich history as Odense Boldklub in the Danish Superliga. I look forward to going abroad to test my skills that have been developed in the MLS."
