Match Story:

HFX Wanderers FC is going head to head with Forge FC starting on 30 Oct 2021 at 2pm Atlantic Time. The match is a part of the Canadian Premier League. HFX Wanderers FC played against Forge FC in 6 matches this season. Currently, HFX Wanderers FC rank 4th, while Forge FC hold 3rd position.

Forge FC have clinched a playoff spot, while the Wanderers (34 points and sitting in 4th place) battle for the 4th and last playoff spot for the 2021 CPL playoffs. The Wanderers are only 1 point ahead of York United (33 points and in 5th place) in the table (with York having a game in hand), and 3 points ahead of Valour FC (31 points and in 6th place) who earned an important 3 points against the Wanderers in their match last Tuesday.

Injuries:

Cory Bent, Jake Ruby and Mateo Restrepo remain out with lingering injuries. Omar Kreim has been back in training for the last weeks and Christian Oxner returned to light training this week. Oxner returns to the bench today after completing proper concussion protocol.

Stefan Karajovanovic is unavailable for selection for today's match after picking up a minor injury in the Wanderers last match.

All other players are available for selection by Wanderers Head Coach Stephen Hart.

Captains:

Andre Rampersad retains the captain's armband for the 2021 campaign.

Coaches:

This is Stephen Hart's third season in charge of the Wanderers and this year he signed an extension for three more years with the club. He is once again joined by assistant coach Mesut Mert and Goalkeeper Coach Jan-Michael Williams, who were both added to the coaching roster in 2020.

Wanderers notes:

The Wanderers have 14 returning players from the 2020 campaign. Last year's leading scorer, Akeem Garcia, is once again joined in attack by João Morelli and supported by a solid core including the likes of Andre Rampersad, Peter Schaale and Christian Oxner. The returning core welcomes the experience of Morey Doner, Jeremy Gagnon-Laparé and Eriks Santos to the team this season as well as the fresh faces of U SPORTS draftees Kareem Sow and Stefan Karajovanovic.
