SEASIDE, California - Rio Grande Valley FC (1-2-3) prepares to face Monterey Bay Union FC (3-2-2) on Saturday, April 28 at 9:00 p.m. CST at Cardinale Stadium.

RGV FC: The Toros suffered a difficult setback at H-E-B Park on Saturday, April 22 when they hosted Memphis 901 FC. In the 3-0 loss, RGV FC learned a lot of what needed to be adjusted as they dropped their second match in as many games.

Head coach Wilmer Cabrera took to the drawing board to make several adjustments in the days leading up to their next match at Monterey Bay Union FC. He laid emphasis on boosting the team morale and creating new attacking options and change of pace in order to avoid a similar situation on the road. Pressure up front and tight passing lanes are a much needed improvement in order to bounce back into being a competitive force as accustomed by Rio Grande. The Toros found themselves chasing for most of their last match which offset their rhythm and lowered shooting chances to a minimum.

Look for a much more aggressive midfield and attacking third as RGV FC acknowledges the fact that they are climbing out of adversity in the goal scoring aspect while still remaining weary of the fact that Monterey Bay is a much more threatening team this week and can damage their defense if they are not fully locked in and stay strong in the mental aspect as well.

Ideally, three points are the goal in this match but the alternate draw and single point should be a positive step in the right direction as they look to leave their losing streak in the past and grow as a unit. The players have shown strong willingness to regain their dominance and turn it around starting Saturday, and a full week of intense training sessions and coaching has backed that up.
