New York Red Bulls News Release
HARRISON, N.J. - The New York Red Bulls (7-3-1, 22 pts) head north to face the New England Revolution (5-4-3, 18 pts) on Saturday, June 2 at Gillette Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET on MSG, MSG Go and New York Red Bulls Radio in English and Spanish on TuneIn.
Coverage of Saturday's match on MSG begins at 7 p.m. with Honda Red Bulls Game Night. Steve Cangialosi will have the primary play-by-play responsibilities and will be alongside Shep Messing and Michelle Gingras.
New York Red Bulls Radio goes live at 7 p.m. ET with triHonda Countdown to Kickoff, hosted by Matt Harmon. Ernesto Motta will carry the Spanish play-by-play, beginning at 7:30 p.m.
New York will take its five-match unbeaten streak into one of the toughest stadiums in MLS. Since 2013, New England has tallied the fourth-most league wins at home with 55 and the Red Bulls are just 2-3-1 in Foxborough during that stretch. New York, however, won back-to-back road matches against the Revolution last season, earning a hard-fought 3-2 league win at Gillette and then a 1-0 victory at Jordan Field on the campus of Harvard.
Goalkeeper Ryan Meara has stepped in valiantly during captain Luis Robles' absence for New York. Meara has allowed just one goal on nine chances in two league matches. The Crestwood, New York, native earned his first league clean sheet in a scoreless draw against Philadelphia since May 9, 2012 versus Houston during his rookie season with the Red Bulls.
The Red Bulls will look to their depth the next few matches as a handful of players will be on international duty. Tyler Adams and Tim Parker were called into the U.S. Men's National Team for the duration of May 30 through June 9. Fidel Escobar and Michael Amir Murillo have left with the Panamanian National Team to play in the FIFA World Cup. Escobar and Murillo have both left to train with the team and will compete in the group stages from June 18 through June 28 with the potential of moving on to the knockout phase, beginning on June 30. Kaku will be with the team for the New England match, but will join the Paraguay National team on June 5 for their international friendly against Japan on June 12.
New York breaks up league play with a Fourth Round Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup match against rival NYCFC on Wednesday, June 6 at Red Bull Arena. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET with coverage on New York Red Bulls Radio in English and Spanish on TuneIn.
