Match Preview: Ottawa Fury FC vs Indy Eleven
October 1, 2019 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
Ottawa Fury FC News Release
OTTAWA - The Ottawa Fury FC will be back on the pitch at TD Place on Wednesday night for their second-last home game of the season and will try to get their revenge against the Eastern Conference's 5th place side, Indy Eleven.
Coming home after a hard fought match in North Carolina, Fury FC will try to win for a third consecutive game at TD Place. Despite last game's loss, Head Coach Nikola Popovic stayed optimistic after the game and was satisfied with the way his players played. "I think we have to be proud of our guys and the way they battled until the very end tonight, and give credit to North Carolina FC they are a fantastic team, but I think if we continue to play the way that we did tonight, great things will come for us".
Even though they have already clinched a playoff spot, Indy Eleven is traveling to Ottawa having lost their last three games, which were all away games. Indy is currently experiencing some trouble offensively, having just scored one goal in their last 270 minutes of play. So far this season, they have accumulated a record on the road of 6W-1D-8L.
A win on Wednesday for Fury FC would be monumental, as they are currently in the last stretch where every single match counts until the end of the season.
STORYLINES
8th-place Fury FC is now 11 points out of a top five spot, but are six points ahead of the tenth-place Birmingham Legion FC, who are in the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
