New York Red Bulls II News Release
HARRISON, N.J. - New York Red Bulls II (1-13-3, 6 points) will travel to face Louisville City FC (11-3-3, 36 points) on Saturday, July 9, at Lynn Family Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. ET with coverage on ESPN+.
New York will look to bounce back following a 3-0 defeat to Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC on Friday, July 1, at MSU Soccer Park. The match will mark the first for Interim Head Coach Ibrahim Sekagya, who had previously filled in for three matches over his eight seasons as an Assistant Coach with the club.
Louisville is riding a three-match winning streak, most recently defeating Birmingham Legion FC, 2-1, on Saturday, July 2. The club has eight clean sheets on the season, which is tied for the most in USL Championship. They have allowed just 14 goals over 17 matches, and their 34 goals scored are tied for fourth in the league.
Saturday will mark the 15th all-time meeting between the clubs, with Louisville holding a slight 6-5-3 edge. Louisville defeated New York, 2-0, on March 23 in the last meeting between the two sides.
The match will conclude a stretch for Red Bulls II of four-straight matches against 2021 postseason opponents.
New York sits 14th in the Eastern Conference while Louisville ranks first.
Following the match, New York will return home to begin a stretch where it will play five out of six matches at home, beginning with Indy Eleven on Friday, July 15. Kickoff from MSU Soccer Park is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET with coverage available on ESPN+.
