New York Red Bulls II News Release
HARRISON, N.J. - New York Red Bulls II (1-11-3, 6 points) will travel to face El Paso Locomotive FC (7-6-4, 25 points) on Saturday, June 25. Kickoff at Southwest University Park is set for 9:30 p.m. ET with coverage on ESPN+.
Red Bulls II will look to build following its draw with FC Tulsa on Wednesday, June 15. The club has earned results against two 2021 playoff teams in the month of June and will look to close it out with a third against El Paso on Saturday night.
The match will mark the first-ever meeting between the two sides, and the fourth of the season against a Western Conference opponent for New York. Red Bulls II has won 11 matches in its history when facing a club for the first time.
El Paso has earned a result in each of its last six contests (3-0-3). They are coming off a 1-1 draw against Detroit City FC on Saturday, June 18. The club is tied for the USL Championship lead in goals with 31 through 17 matches. They have four players who have scored four or more goals and are led by Luis Solignac's six.
Red Bulls II and Red Bulls Academy midfielder Sam Williams is the youngest player in USL Championship to record at least 1,000 minutes. The next youngest player with 1,000 minutes is two years older than him. He is also the only player to appear in every match for New York, and the youngest in the league to accomplish that as well.
New York sits 14th in the Eastern Conference, while El Paso ranks sixth in the Western Conference.
Following the match, New York will return home to face Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC on Friday, July 1. Kickoff from MSU Soccer Park is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET with coverage available on ESPN+.
