Match Preview: Lou City Returns Home with Hopes of Extending Win Streak

Louisville, KY (August 3, 2015) - The hottest team in the USL, Louisville City FC (11-3-5, 38 points), has put together a six-game winning streak and is now within five points of the top of the Eastern Conference. Louisville will try to make it seven straight in the win column Wednesday when they take on FC Montreal (4-12-3, 15 points), a club that is much further down the table but one that has been successful as of late. With a result in four of their last five matches, FC Montreal will be a challenge for Lou City.

The first meeting between the clubs was back on June 10th. It was a notable 2-0 win for Louisville City as they captured their first road victory in franchise history. Louisville scored quickly behind Tarek Morad's header in the 16th minute. Matt Fondy turned a Montreal defensive miscue into the team's second goal and that was all Louisville would need.

In that match City was able to get off 16 shots, 8 in each period compared to Montreal who had 6 total an only two in the second half.

Louisville is coming off an impressive 3-2 road victory in Toronto. The win capped off an unbeaten road trip, with Lou City winning all three games. City got behind in the first half as Toronto's Molham Babouli put one in the net in the 21st minute. After 57 frustrating minutes, Kadeem Dacres sparked the team with a well placed right footed shot into the corner of the net. Niall McCabe gave Louisville the lead in the 67th minute on a laser to the bottom right corner. Bryan Burke's goal in the 73rd proved to be the difference as Toronto would get one back in the 81st minute.

Montreal is coming off of a very impressive tie to the Charleston Battery. The club is in the midst of a 5 game road trip in which Louisville is the fourth of five stops. Starting off the season, Montreal lost 11 of its first 14 games, but has turned the table and won 3 out of their last 5 matches. They have yet to lose a game this season when scoring two or more goals. Alessandro Riggi leads attack for FC Montreal with five goals on the season so far.

Following the Montreal match on Wednesday August 5th the team hits the road again to play Harrisburg on Wednesday the 12th and Tulsa Saturday August 15th.

Louisville's next home game is Saturday August 22nd against the Eastern Conference third place Charleston Battery. The following Tuesday is the much anticipated battle with Major League Soccer's Orlando City SC.

Louisville City FC is a professional soccer team founded in 2014 began its inaugural season in 2015. The United Soccer League was founded in 2010 and has expanded to 24 teams for the 2015 season. Louisville City FC will play all home matches at Louisville Slugger Field in downtown Louisville.
