San Antonio Scorpions vs Indy Eleven

7:30PM Saturday, September 12, at Toyota Field

SAN ANTONIO, Texas (Friday, September 11, 2015) - Both Indy Eleven and the San Antonio Scorpions have been busy the past two weeks, having played a combined six games heading into this weekend's tilt. Indy is coming off a 3-0 shutout win against the Jacksonville Armada while the Scorpions played a very wild Wednesday match at Toyota Field against the Carolina RailHawks that ended in a 3-3 draw.

Indy midfielder Zach Steinberger scored his first two goals of the 2015 season in the win over the Armada. He is one of ten Indy players with at least two goals in 2015, but no player on the squad has more than three goals on the season. Omar Cummings leads the Scorpions this season with 10 goals, but Cummings has not found the back of the net since the Scorpion's 3-3 draw at the Atlanta Silverbacks on Aug. 8.

Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Central on Saturday night and the game can be seen on ESPN3.

By the Numbers:

Indy and San Antonio are 2-0-2 against each other since the Eleven joined the NASL in 2014. The Scorpions got the first two wins of the series, while the two most recent meetings have gone to the Indiana side. There have been a relatively low number of goals scored in the four meetings, with the Scorpions leading 5-4. Nine different players from both teams have scored goals in this series. Current Scorpions who have scored against Indy include Cummings, Billy Forbes, and Julius James.
