Atletico Ottawa News Release

Atlético Ottawa concludes its home campaign 2021 on Sunday (KO 2PM, live on OneSoccer and TSN 1200) when it hosts York United one last time this season in the ComeOn! Match of the Week. The two sides have faced off against each other four times already this year, with three of the clashes ending in draws (the fourth in a York United win), but Atlético Ottawa is entering the match in fine scoring form, looking to play spoilers once more.

MATCH NOTES

Atlético Ottawa comes in strong with 2 wins in its last 3 matches, including an emphatic 2-0 win over Valour FC in the mid-week match.

York United last played on Sunday in a 1-1 draw to FC Edmonton and will need a win to keep playoffs alive, currently sitting 2 points behind the fourth-place Halifax Wanderers.

The last meeting between the two sides (Oct 8 at York) concluded in a 1-1 draw in which Ottawa's leading scorer Malcolm Shaw converted from the PK spot.

So far this season, Malcolm Shaw (2), Miguel Acosta, and Alberto Soto got one past the York netminder.

Thanks to a win on Wednesday, Ottawa has left the bottom of the league table, now sitting in 7th position, and could, with some help, continue to climb over the last couple of weeks of CPL action.

OUT: Brandon John (injury, season); Victor Martinez (injury, game to game), Shawn-Claud Lawson (injury, game to game); Drew Beckie (accumulation, 2 games).

This is Atlético Ottawa's final match in front of the TD Place home fans this season, but the team will conclude the campaign against the Wanderers, in Halifax, on Sunday, November 7 (KO 1PM).
