Match Notes: Atlético Ottawa V Halifax Wanderers August 14
August 14, 2021 - Canadian Premier League (CPL)
Atletico Ottawa News Release
Atlético Ottawa plays its inaugural match at TD Place this Saturday, August 14th as it hosts the Halifax Wanderers in the ComeOn! Match of the Week (KO 3PM, live on OneSoccer and TSN 1200).
MATCH NOTES
This will be the second time in less than two weeks that the two sides will face off. On August 2, in Halifax, the home club had the best performance that day, coming out on top with a 2-0 win over Atlético Ottawa.
The Atléti hopes the buzz from a sell-out crowd will bolster their on-field performance and turn things around after a difficult start of the season. Head Coach Mista called on his players ahead of the match, asking them to be brave with the ball and play their style of football.
If the road hasn't been kind to Atlético Ottawa, the story remains to be written when it comes to home matches. Ottawa currently sits at 2W-1D-7L in its 10 first matches of 2021.
Head Coach Mista will proudly lead his squad for this first home match in club history. While he has received a suspension for accumulation of cautions following the last match, he will not be serving his suspension this match (to be served on August 18th instead) as allowed by Canada Soccer and the CPL.
OUT: Brandon John (injury, season); Vashon Neufville (injury); Chris Mannella (injury); Viti Martinez (suspension, double yellow)

Ottawa Public Health will be hosting a pop-up vaccination clinic for first and second doses for residents 12 and over on Saturday from 1PM to 5PM at Gate 2 of TD Place. No appointment required.
