Florida Firecats News Release

Estero, FL- Florida Firecats' quarterback Ken Mastrole is only a few possessions away from claiming another team passing record.

Mastrole has completed 197 of his 328 pass attempts (60.1%) this season for 2,377 yards. He is only 52 yards away from surpassing former Firecat quarterback Bryan Sparacino's 2,428-yard performance in 2002. Mastrole has also thrown for 54 touchdowns this season. He already holds that team record with 55 touchdowns.

"Individual stats are not very important to me," Mastrole said. "The team's overall goals are much more important. The year's end results are what I will reflect back on when the season is over."

Mastrole currently has a quarterback rating of 113.02, and he averages 216.1 yards a game. He has also taken every snap for the Firecats this season.

Closing in on two more Firecats' records is receiver Cainon Lamb. Lamb is 11 receptions away from owning the team career record. He currently has 184 career receptions. He is also standing on 2,055 career yards, only 274 yards away from that record. Defensive specialist Quincy Sorrell, who leads the af2 with 65 tackles, is only 14.5 tackles away teammate Roy Stabler's record of 79.5 tackles last season.

The Firecats return home this weekend for a crucial match up with the defending American Conference champions, the Macon Knights. Seats are still available. Contact the Firecats' office at (239) 390-2287 to reserve your seats today!
