
Mason Leads Hurricanes to 113-102 Victory over Riptide

Halifax,NS - Antonie Mason had 19 points and 9 rebounds as the Halifax Hurricanes defeated the Saint John Riptide 113-102 in front of a season high 2,501 fans at Scotiabank Centre on Sunday afternoon.
Halifax jumped out to a 31-24 advantage following the first quarter and continued to lead by 7 points as the teams headed to the locker rooms at halftime; 56-49. The two teams each scored 31 points in the third quarter with the Hurricanes sealing the victory outscoring the Riptide 26-22 in the final frame.
Along with Mason, forward Tyrone Watson had 18 points and 7 rebounds and Michael Poole had 14 points and 3 rebounds pacing Halifax to their 18th victory of the NBL Canada's Regular Season.
Guard Darin Mency led the Saint John attack with 32 points and 5 rebounds and forward Haakim Johnson chipped in with 24 points and 9 rebounds.
The Hurricanes head out on the road for their next four games before returning to Scotiabank Centre on Thursday, March 16 at 7:00 p.m. against the Island Storm.
