MUSKEGON, Michigan (October 7th) - The Muskegon Lumberjacks are excited to announce that Forward Mason Jobst has made his college commitment to play for the Buckeyes of Ohio State University out of the Big Ten Conference beginning next fall.

Jobst, the Speedway, Indiana native, is in his fourth USHL season with the Lumberjacks and has totaled 18 goals and 65 assists to go along with a plus-five rating in 153 games played. The future Buckeye was drafted by Muskegon in the 7th round (96th overall) during the 2011 USHL Entry Draft and is currently serving his second consecutive season as Captain of the team.

"The campus is beautiful, the facilities are top-notch, and the coaching staff was great in making me feel comfortable and right at home when I made my official visit to the school," shared Jobst. "Being from Indiana, my ultimate goal was to play hockey in the Big Ten Conference after watching many Indiana University basketball games growing up. I couldn't have asked for anything else (from Ohio State), and I feel excited and relieved to choose such a great school while being able to focus back on trying to win a championship this season in Muskegon."

Prior to playing in the USHL, Jobst spent nearly two seasons from 2010-12 skating for the Indiana Jr. Ice Midget Major team out of the North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL) recording 14 goals and 20 assists in 41 games played. In addition, Jobst had a brief two-game USHL stint with the USNTDP Under-17 Team during the 2010-11 season tallying a goal and an assist to go along with a plus-one rating.

Jobst joins teammate Michael Latorella in current Lumberjacks that have committed to play for the Buckeyes following their respective junior careers.
