Bradenton Marauders News Release
Bradenton, Fla. - The Bradenton Marauders and The Salvation Army partnered to host the first "Marty's Toy Drive" at Pirate City this morning. More than 200 new, unwrapped toys were collected to benefit The Salvation Army's "Adopt a Family" program in Manatee County.
"The Marauders would like to extend our gratitude to our employees, season ticket members, and community-minded fans that donated this morning," Marauders General Manager Rachelle Madrigal said. "The Salvation Army has been a great partner in putting this event on and we look forward to seeing it grow in future years."
The Salvation Army's "Adopt a Family" program will help provide gifts for nearly 2,000 needy children in Manatee County this holiday season. Many families in need have been adopted by program donors, however there is always greater need than there are donors available. The toys collected today will help The Salvation Army fill the wishes of children that are not adopted in the coming weeks.
Toy drive attendees enjoyed a selection of complimentary promo items, breakfast, and the chance to meet and pose for photos with a jubilant Marty the Marauder. A raffle was held for donors, with winners to be contacted at a later date.
