Marshals announce assistant coaches

Waco, TX â The Waco Marshals are pleased to announce the hiring of 5 assistant coaches for the 2004 inaugural season.
Wayne Walker will serve as Receivers Coach. He was a 3-time All Southwest Conference Receiver at Texas Tech from 1985-1988. Coach Walker also spent time in the NFL with the San Diego Chargers and Minnesota Vikings, the CFL with the Ottawa Rough Riders and Shreveport Pirates, and the AFL with the Tampa Bay Storm.
Phillip Hughes will serve as Offensive Line Coach. He played in collegiately at Cisco JC and Abilene Christian University and semi-professionally with the Navy Semi-Pro Leagues Puget Sound Eagles. Coach Hughes spent 2 years as the Assistant Offensive Line Coach with the Austin Rattlers of the NAFL and as Offensive Line Coach of the Austin Knights of the NIFL.
Tony Williams will serve as Defensive Line Coach. He played in the NFL with the LA Rams and Houston Oilers. He previously served as the Defensive Coordinator of the Oak Cliff Eagles in the US Marine Corps Intramural League.
Dennis Bates will serve as Running Backs Coach. He has previous coaching experience with the Semi-Pro Waco Warriors, the Central Texas Warriors of the NAFL, and the Waco Extreme of the TIFL and TUFL2.
Jason Lewis will serve as Defensive Backs coach. He has 1 year of playing experience in the AFL with the Memphis Pharaohs. Coach Lewis spent 6 seasons coaching in the Central Arkansas Football League, 2 seasons in the NAFL, and spent the last season with the Waco Extreme of the TUFL2 as the Defensive Coordinator.

The Marshals open their season at home on March 12, 2004 at 7pm against the Lake Charles LandSharks. Season tickets for all 7 home games of the 2004 season are currently on sale. Season ticket prices are VIP/Floor $161, Box/Middle Balcony $105 and End Zone and Concrete Balcony $70.
