
Marquis Rolle Signed to Reading Express Secondary

Reading, Pa. (October 18, 2011) -The Reading Express signed Marquis Rolle as a defensive back for the 2012 IFL season. Rolle played his college ball at Florida International University in Miami, Fla.
The Orlando native is a versatile player who contributed as wide receiver, safety and kick returner for FIU. Rolle has great speed, posting a top time of 4.4 in the 40-yard dash. While Rolle is slated to fill a defensive back spot, he may also see time returning kicks for the Express.
"Marquis brings a physical presence to the secondary," said Mark Steinmeyer, head coach of the Reading Express. "At 6'3, 197 pounds, he has the ability to drop down into the box and help make plays like a linebacker while having the cover skills of a true lockdown corner. He has the potential to be a special player."
Rolle chose FIU after receiving interest from Michigan State, Middle Tennessee, Cincinnati and Southern Miss.
The Reading Express are one of the most established franchises in indoor football. In six full seasons, the team has amassed an overall record of 73-27 with five division championships, two conference titles and the 2009 AIFA National Championship. In 2011, Reading began play as a new member of the Indoor Football League and captured the league's Atlantic Division title. The team plays on The Reading Hospital Medical Group Field at Sovereign Center in Reading, Pa.
