Marlins Release Full 2014 Promotional Schedule

Morehead City, N.C.- The Morehead City Marlins are happy to announce their promotional schedule for the upcoming 2014 season.
The promotional schedule will begin on Opening Night, May 28, with the 5th Year Anniversary Night Celebration at Big Rock Stadium. All tickets will be priced $5 for the game. The following home game, on Friday, May 30, will be Little League Night, Bojangles Night and Magnet Schedule Giveaway Night,presented by Little Caesar's. All Little League players will receive free admission to the game if they wear their Little League jerseys, and all fans will receive a 2014 Marlins schedule magnet.
Saturday, June 21 will be Paint the Park Pink Night, presented by Carteret General Hospital. The Marlins will wear pink jerseys during the game, and those jerseys will be auctioned off following the game with the proceeds benefitting the Raab Oncology Clinic.
Thirsty Thursdays will return to Big Rock Stadium for the 2014 season each Thursday home game, where all 12 oz beers will be just $1. The promotional schedule will conclude on Monday August 4, with Fan Appreciation Night. "Promotions are a big component of summer collegiate baseball, and we feel that our 2014 promotional schedule has something for everyone," said Marlins general manager Mitch Kluver. "We hope everyone gets a chance to come out to the ballpark and see what we have in store."
The Marlins' first regular season home game will be on May 28 at 7.05 p.m. against the Fayetteville Swampdogs. Season tickets and flex books are on sale now at www.mhcmarlins.com and at the Marlins Team Store, located at 508-D Evans Street in Morehead City. Morehead City will play host to the 2014 Coastal Plain League All-Star Game. Festivities begin on Saturday July 12, continue with the Fan Fest and Home Run Derby on Sunday July 13 and conclude with the All-Star Game on Monday July 14. The Coastal Plain League is the nation's hottest summer collegiate baseball league. Celebrating its 18th season in 2014, the CPL features 14 teams playing North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. The CPL gives college players the chance to refine their skills with the use of wooden bats. Players are housed with local host families for the summer and past experiences have been very positive for both players and hosts. Furthermore, the CPL has had over 1,100 alumni drafted and 65 alums - including 2011 AL MVP and Cy Young winner Justin Verlander - make their Major League debut thus far.
