Mark Cohoon Named Eastern League Pitcher of the Week

BINGHAMTON, NY - Binghamton Mets starting pitcher Mark Cohoon has been named the Eastern League Pitcher of the Week for the period of August 5-11. Cohoon won both of his starts during the stretch, allowing one earned run over 13.0 innings of work. He struck out six, walked two and surrendered just nine hits in victories over the Altoona Curve and Erie SeaWolves.

Selected by the New York Mets in the 12th round of the 2008 draft out of North Central Texas College, Cohoon is in his fourth season with the B-Mets. He holds the franchise record for most innings pitched (371.1) and ranks second with 62 career starts. Cohoon has gone 8-3 with a 4.07 ERA over 21 appearances (17 starts) this season. He has won each of his last four starts while compiling a 1.78 ERA.

Cohoon and the B-Mets (75-46) enjoy their final off day of the regular season on Monday before starting a three-game series against the Reading Fightin Phils on Tuesday at 7:05 PM.
