
Aeros Expect Near Capacity Crowds Friday and Saturday

AKRON, OHIO - The Akron Aeros are expecting near-capacity crowds this Friday and Saturday at Canal Park during the three-game weekend series against the Reading Fightin' Phils, which runs from August 16-18.
The team is encouraging fans to purchase tickets in advance for their convenience and to help ease lines at the Box Office.
"We want to provide our fans and guests the best experience possible here at Canal Park," said General Manager Jim Pfander. "The team is looking forward to the final 11 regular season home games with fireworks, fun promotions and family fun," added Pfander.
The Aeros will begin the short homestand on Friday, August 16 at 7:05 p.m. with a night dedicated to "The King" Elvis Presley, complete with an Elvis impersonator and Elvis-themed fireworks. After the game, fans will receive bags of BIGS Sunflower Seeds on their way out through the Canal Park gates, while supplies last.
Saturday, August 17 at 7:05 p.m. is the 24-year anniversary of gold-medal winner Butch Reynolds' record-breaking performance in the 400m in 1989. He will be on hand at Canal Park to sign autographs for fans, and will throw out the first pitch. It is also a Celebrity Saturday, featuring the Mystery PA Announcer and the first 1,000 kids ages 12 and under in attendance will receive a 24-inch ash bat presented by MDS Baseball Bats. Saturday will be capped off with Beatles-themed fireworks, also sponsored by MDS.
Finally, Sunday, August 18 at 2:05 p.m. is a Family FUNday, with pre-game catch on the field, player autographs, and kids can run the bases following the game. Plus, it's also and Superhero Day as fans are encouraged wear their favorite superhero costumes and cheer on their favorites. Sunday is also the Aeros remote dig where fans will be randomly selected throughout the game to participate in the post-game remote control dig to win a HD flat screen TV, courtesy of Best Buy!
Tickets are available at the Akron Aeros box office, which is open Monday through Friday (10 a.m.-5 p.m.), and Saturday from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. or by calling 330-253-5153. Ticket prices are $9 for adults, $8 for youth and seniors, $5 for general admission seats in the bleachers, and military discounts with identification.
