Mariners to host International Friendly August 17th at the Sportsplex

The Virginia Beach Mariners are pleased to announce an International Friendly Match against Tivoli Gardens Football Club from the Jamaican National Premier League on Wednesday August 17th at the Virginia Beach Sportsplex at 7.30 p.m.
Tivoli Gardens were runners up in the Jamaican National Premier League for 2004/2005. They lost the defense of their title against the new champions Portmore United 1-0 at the National Stadium on June 27th, 2005. Portmore United's lone goal of the match ousted Tivoli Gardens 2-1 on aggregate.
Tivoli Gardens are led by Coach Glendon Admiral Bailey and the team is currently on a U.S Tour. Tivoli Gardens tallied over 70 goals in the 2004-2005 season led by their leading scorer Christopher Nicholas who netted 23 goals.
Tickets for the match are $8 for ages 11 and up. Mariners' 2005 season ticket holders and children 10 and under are free. Tickets are available at the Mariners' office at the Sportsplex at 2181 Landstown Road, Virginia Beach, Monday through Friday 10 a.m.-4 p.m. or by e-mailing tickets@marinerssoccer.com.
