The Mariners offense was nothing short of amazing, scoring runs in all but three innings. Eight of the nine starters for the Mariners recorded a hit, with six players having multi-hit games. Jamal Austin, Bryan Burito, and David Villasuso all had 2-for-4 days and 2 runs scored each. Guilermo Pimentel had a big day from the cleanup spot going 3-for-5 with three runs and four RBI. Three of those RBI came in the sixth inning when he blasted his first homerun of the season (first of the season for the Mariners) over the scoreboard in right center.
Kyle Kubitza had a solid day at the plate with three hits and one RBI for Danville. William Beckwith also performed well scoring two of the Braves three runs.
Luke Taylor (1-0) earned the win for the Mariners, and Dave Filak (0-1) picked up the loss. The win against the Braves brings the Mariners to 3-0 this season. Tomorrow night's matchup, presented by Progressive Auto Insurance and Glenn Auto Insurance, will be against the Princeton Braves and is scheduled to start at 7:00 p.m. Come out to Historic Calfee Park to support your Pulaski Mariners as they look to take complete control of first place in the Appalachian League East.
