Mariners host opening day at Virginia Beach Sportsplex

Virginia Beach Mariners News Release
Virginia Beach- Saturday April 22nd is opening day at the Virginia Beach Sportsplex. Gates will open at 4:30 p.m. Opening events begin with an exhibition game featuring the All Army Women's Soccer Team playing the U16 Virginia Rush Women's Team at 5 p.m.
The Virginia Beach Mariners will host the Toronto Lynx at 7:30 p.m. for their 2006 season opening game. Mayor Meyera Oberndorf will give opening remarks and "get the ball rolling" with the opening kick.
Opening Day Events include:
FREE Mariners Poster and ABNB Thundersticks to the first 2,500 through the gate
Performance by "The Rhythm Project"
Half time MC Nick Taylor of the Z104 ZOO
Seagals debut performance
Chick-fil-A Kan Kan contest
Kids Fun Zone
Seamore the Mascot
