Charleston, SC. The 2005 Mardi Gras Oyster Roast Festival brought to you by Charleston Brewing Company will be held at Blackbaud Stadium, Daniel Island on Saturday, February 12 from 12 PM - 8 PM. The event is part of the 2005 Bonterra Lowcountry Blues Bash(r) and the good times will be rolling with live jazz and blues, an oyster roast, gator, peel & eat shrimp, chili, concession food plus beer & wine and a day-long schedule of children's activities. In partnership with WCIV News Channel 4 and the City of Charleston Mayor's Office for Children, Youth and Families the event will benefit Lowcountry's Promise.
Kid's activities will include a Mardi Gras mask decorating tent, Jump Castle, Mountain Wall & Slide, Hot-Shot Power-Kick game, Human Foosball, mini-soccer games, an interactive playground & face painting. There will also be a Corporate Challenge event open to teams of five with a variety of entertaining events.
The Charleston Battery will be accepting a $2 donation per child at the event to allow all-day access to the children's activities. All the proceeds will benefit Lowcountry's Promise. Lowcountry's Promise is the local initiative of America's Promise, dedicated to mobilizing the community to improve the lives of children and youth.
The 2005 Mardi Gras Oyster Roast Festival is brought to you in part by the Charleston Brewing Company, Charleston City Paper, the Daniel Island News, 95 SX, Sunny 96.9, News talk 1250AM and WCIV News Channel 4.
Live Music / Bonterra Lowcountry Blues Bash(r) As part of the 15th annual Bonterra Lowcountry Blues Bash there are four featured bands scheduled to appear at the Mardi Gras Oyster Roast Festival on Daniel Island. Bottles & Cans, Midnight Shift, The King Bees, and the Shelley Magee Blues Band will alternate on the main-stage at Blackbaud Stadium.
The Bonterra Lowcountry Blues Bash(r) is Charleston, South Carolina's annual celebration of authentic blues music. With ten days of performances in select venues, the Bash boasts some of the most innovative blues festival programming in North America. It's all there -- from traditional to post-modern, from underappreciated down-home veterans to provocative up-and-coming talent, you will find the Bonterra Lowcountry Blues Bash to be a delight for blues purists and new fans alike.
