
Marc Burch Undergoes Foot Surgery

Washington, D.C. (November 2, 2011) - D.C. United announced today that defender Marc Burch has undergone a successful cheilectomy to repair a Hallux Rigidus (arthritic big toe) condition in his right foot. The procedure was performed by Podiatric specialist Lew C. Schon, M.D. at Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore, Md. Burch is expected to make a full recovery in time for the 2012 MLS season.
"We are pleased that Marc has undergone successful surgery, and we expect him to make a full recovery and be ready for the start of 2012 preseason training," said General Manager Dave Kasper.
In his fifth campaign with D.C. United, Burch played 17 matches (11 starts), registering one goal and an assist in 1,117 minutes of action during the 2011 MLS season.
