Marc Bircham Added to Coaching Staff; Kelly Signed

PHOENIX - Today, Arizona United SC announced that head coach Frank Yallop has hired Marc Bircham as an assistant coach. The former Canadian national team member also worked with Yallop as an assistant coach with the Chicago Fire of Major League Soccer.

"Marc is a great tactical mind who brings a wealth of experience to the club from all his years as a player and coach at Millwall and Queens Park Rangers," said Arizona United SC head coach Frank Yallop. "We're both looking forward to building something special in Arizona and the players will really enjoy working and learning from him."

Prior to coaching in the United States, Bircham spent time coaching in England. He spent one season as an assistant manager at Millwall during the 2014-15 season. Before coming to Millwall, Bircham spent 2009-2014 as a coach with Queens Park Rangers. During that time, the club played in the English Premier League.

In addition to coaching in England, Bircham also played in England. He began his professional playing career with Millwall, playing with the club from 1996-2002, making 104 appearances. He then moved on to Queens Park Rangers, where he made 152 appearances with the club from 2002-2007. He finished his playing career with Yeovil Town before retiring in 2009. Bircham also made 17 appearances for the Canadian National Team from 1999-2004.

Club Sings former St. Louis FC Midfielder Peter Kelly

In addition to announcing a new assistant, Arizona United SC signed midfielder Peter Kelly. Last season, Kelly appeared in nine matches with St. Louis FC.

This will not be Kelly's first time playing in Arizona. In 2014, he spent the summer playing with PDL side FC Tucson. Kelly played his college soccer at Southern Illinois-Edwardsville where he was a Second Team All-Missouri Valley Conference selection in his final season.
