BRADENTON, Fla. - The Bradenton Marauders scored five runs in the seventh inning and went on to defeat the St. Lucie Mets 7-3 at LECOM Park on Sunday afternoon.

The Marauders took three out of four in the series. The Mets finished their seven-game road trip 4-3.

Sunday's game was tied 2-2 at the seventh inning stretch but it fell apart for the Mets in the bottom of the seventh. Reliever Ezequiel Zabaleta was tagged for five runs on five hits in the frame. All nine Marauders came to the plate.

Mason Martin hit a go-ahead two runs single to make it 4-2. Later in the inning after the Mets could not turn a double play that would have ended the inning, Adrian Valerio hit another two-run single that put Bradenton up 6-2. Dylan Busby concluded the scoring by scoring from third on a wild pitch.

Bradenton reliever Hunter Stratton walked five batters in the top of the ninth but Ryan Valdes came out of the bullpen to retire Wagner Lagrange to end the game with the tying run on deck.

The Mets drew eight walks on the day but only recorded four hits. Hansel Moreno's two-run double with no outs in the top of the third provided the Mets a 2-0 lead. That was the last hit for the Mets.

Mets starter Luc Rennie took a no-decision. He threw 90 pitches over 4.1 innings and gave up two runs.

Ike Schalbach got the win for Bradenton. He pitched two perfect innings of relief.

Jake Ortega went 1 for 3 with two runs for the Mets. Moreno went 1 for 2 with a double and two walks.

The Mets (25-15, 57-49) are off on Monday. They return to First Data Field on Tuesday to face the Palm Beach Cardinals. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
