Manatees fans, if you're looking for something to do next weekend our friends with the Daytona Cubs are hosting their 2nd annual World Series of Chili benefiting the Volusia/Flagler United Way and they have asked us to forward on this information to you.

Here's the skinny:

Date: Saturday, November 18th, 2006

Time: Noon until 5:00 pm

Location: Jackie Robinson Ballpark, Daytona Beach

Cost: $10 for adults/$5 for kids (in advance), $12/$6 (day or event at the gate)

Chili Judging begins at 3:00 pm. Also, there will be a Battle of the Bands musicfest ongoing throughout the day, Kids Zone for the kids to play on, etc.

If you're interested in fielding a cooking team, email Arin Vaughan at arinvaughan@daytonacubs.com. Arin will get you all the information you need to participate. There is a $1000 cash prize for the top chili and other prizes available.

The Cubs are our biggest rivals, but behind the scenes and off the playing field we're all in this together and we support each other's fundraisers and non-profit activities. If you're looking for a fun afternoon and want to help the Volusia/Flagler United Way, then check out the Cubs World Series of Chili cook-off. I guarantee you'll have a good time and see many people from the two baseball stadiums in attendance.

I'll have my Pepcid AC along for dessert. Just in case.

Just a reminder, our baseball camp registration is on-going for your kids. The date of the Manatees 2007 baseball camp is June 6th - 9th, 2007. The cost for this four-day camp is only $100 and is open for all kids 6-12. Kids enrolled in this camp will receive a card that will provide them entrance to all 70 Manatees home games, something that more than pays for itself! Space is limited and when the camp is full, it's full...we will not schedule a second camp in 2007. Get your registration forms emailed to you; send an email to info@spacecoaststadium.com with the text BASEBALL CAMP REGISTRATION in the subject line and we'll email you the form. Included in the camp is professional instruction, a souvenir baseball, a camp t-shirt, graduation certificate and a season ticket for the camper! Check around and see what other teams and organizations charge for their camps...you won't find a better deal!
