
Manatees sign three

Miami â Miami Manatees Head Coach Zac Boyer today announced the signing of left wing Kevin Caudill, goaltender Al Rooney, and left wing Garrett Dionne.
Rooney appeared in six games last season with the Jacksonville Barracudas, compiling a record of one win, three losses, and one tie. He finished up with a 3.42 GAA and a .897 save percentage. Rooney hails from North Babylon, New York and is entering his eighth professional hockey season.
Dionne comes to the Manatees after playing with the Lakeland Loggerheads and Alabama Slammers this season. In 39 games, Dionne scored two goals and 14 assists while compiling 94 penalty minutes. Born in Clarence Center, New York, Dionne played jr. B hockey with the Niagara Falls Canucks in the 1999-2000 season before attending Plymouth State University for one season.
Kevin Caudill is a familiar face to two Manatee players, having spent the 1998-1999 season with Dan Donnette in Des Moines of the USHL, and attended Ferris State University with Kevin Swider from 1999 to 2001. In four seasons with Ferris State, Caudill score five goals and nine assists in 77 games. Caudill made his professional debut this season with the Kalamazoo Wings in the UHL. In 42 games, he scored two goals and six assists.
The Miami Manatees face off against the Alabama Slammers, Jacksonville Barracudas, Lakeland Loggerheads, Macon Trax, and Orlando Seals in the WHA2's inaugural season.
