January 20, 2012 - National Lacrosse League (NLL)
Colorado Mammoth News Release

DENVER - Often thought of as one of the best face-off men of all-time, Jamie 'Man-Cub' Hanford has been named to the Mammoth All-Decade Team. He joins former teammates Jay Jalbert, Pat Coyle, Dave Stilley and Josh Sims as the first five players to receive the honor, and is the lone face-off man named to the team.

"Jamie had a special craft, and he worked tirelessly to perfect it," said Mammoth President & General Manager Steve Govett. "For his unique style, witty humor and distinct personality, he's one of the most beloved players ever to don a Mammoth uniform."

Selected 6th overall in the 1998 NLL Entry Draft by the Philadelphia Wings, Hanford owns five of the top-ten single-season face-off win totals in league history. The Darien, Conn. native played 11 seasons in the NLL, most recently with the Rochester Knighthawks in 2009. The NLL's all-time leader in face-off wins (2,091), Hanford was a man among boys in the face-off circle. He won 61% of his draws overall, and 64% in his five-year Mammoth career from 2003-2007.

"The highlight of my career was the time I was in Colorado," said Hanford. "I can't wait to get back there. [Mammoth fans] have always been the best fans in the league, and it's going to be a great time and a great night."

The Mammoth All-Decade Team will be honored at halftime of Colorado's next home game on Saturday, January 28 as the team takes on Rochester.

Tickets to all Mammoth regular-season home games are on-sale now at the Pepsi Center box office, all Colorado Dick's Sporting Goods retail kiosks, online at TicketHorse.com, or by calling 303.53.HORSE.
