Colorado Mammoth News Release

DENVER - The Colorado Mammoth remains atop the West Division despite suffering its first loss of the season at the hands of the Vancouver Stealth, 16-13, on Saturday at Langley Events Centre in British Columbia. A fourth-quarter rally wasn't enough to erase a five-goal deficit entering the final frame. Colorado is now 3-1 on the 2015 season.

Mammoth coach Chris Gill commented on the loss by saying, "We like to dictate the pace and they kind of gave it to us tonight. All in all, we didn't play like we could and it was very disappointing for us to try to battle through and miss out by a couple of goals. Sometimes losses are good. We are going to take that into the bye week."

There was no love lost between the teams as they played seven days ago. It was a physical contest throughout, including a second-quarter scrap between Colorado's Sean Pollock and Vancouver's Tyler Hass that resulted in both players being ejected.

Mammoth forward John Grant Jr. recorded the 1,300th point of his illustrious career on the third of his six assists in the game.

Following a bye next weekend, the Mammoth returns to Pepsi Center on Friday, the 13th of February to take on the Edmonton Rush on Zombie Night pres. by Colorado Lottery. Tickets to the game are on sale now at AltitudeTickets.com.
