DENVER - The Colorado Mammoth opened its 2011 campaign with a 7-10 loss in NLL preseason action to the Toronto Rock Saturday night at Pepsi Center. Over 6500 fans were on hand for the first box lacrosse action between Toronto and Colorado in Denver since 2003.

Forward Aaron Pascus led the Rock with three goals for Toronto while Jamie Shewchuk and Brian Langtry each scored twice for Colorado in the loss. Both teams' superstars, Colin Doyle (Toronto) and John Grant, Jr. (Colorado) sat out the preseason contest.

"We're obviously not happy with the outcome," said Mammoth head coach Bob Hamley after the game. "You try to win each time out. We were trying some different guys and combinations tonight, but no one really stood out individually for us. We have some decisions to make moving forward in order to get where we want to be by the regular season opener."

The Mammoth's 2011 regular season opener is Saturday, January 8th against the defending NLL champion Washington Stealth.
