
Mallards Welcome Blue Liner McPhee

MOLINE, Ill. (October 29, 2009) - The Quad City Mallards, proud International Hockey League (IHL) affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers, today announced that team has signed defenseman Iain McPhee and has waived forward Marc Desloges. Per team policy terms of McPhee's contract were not released.
McPhee, 24, skated in the training camp of the ECHL's Toledo Walleye before joining the Mallards. The, Pickering, Ontario, native spent three seasons at the University of Prince Edward Island before turning professional. McPhee last season scored two goals and added an assist in 18 games with UPEI. Over the course of his Panther career, the 6' 2", 209-pound blue liner scored five times and totaled 19 points in 58 games.
McPhee played four years of major junior hockey with the Windsor Spitfires of the Ontario Hockey League before turning pro.
Desloges did not see any regular season action with the Mallards after being placed on injured reserve during training camp because of a training camp.
This Friday night at 7:00 the Mallards will not only take on the Flint Generals at the i wireless Center but also host the World's Largest Indoor Trick-or-Treat and welcome costumed children who are accompanied by a ticketed adult to the game free of charge, courtesy of Genesis Sports Medicine, Hardee's and KWQC-TV6. In addition, Friday night will also see the first 1,000 fans through the doors for the game receive a free Genesis official game puck.
Children will be able to trick-or-treat throughout the i wireless Center as treats will be distributed at each section of the arena- any inclement weather outdoors will do nothing to dampen the Halloween festivities inside the building. Costumed kids will also be welcomed onto the ice for a costume parade that will be shown live on the iwC video board.**
The Mallards' Opening Week has kicked off a 38-game home schedule loaded with special events, unique promotions and giveaways. Mallards tickets are available at the i wireless Center box office, Ticketmaster outlets and www.ticketmaster.com or through Ticketmaster charge-by-phone toll free at 1-800-745-3000. The box office is open Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and on game days from 10:00 a.m. through the end of the second period.
