Port Huron Icehawks News Release

PORT HURON, MI - The Port Huron Icehawks announced that doors for all Icehawks home games will now open one and half hours prior to each contest. The Under the Ice Lounge at McMorran Place will also open one and a half hours prior to each game.

For games that begin at 7:30 p.m., doors will now open at 6 p.m. and the lounge will remain open until midnight. For Sunday games that begin at 5 p.m., doors will open at 3:30 p.m. and the lounge will remain open until 10 p.m.

The lounge is located below the theater at McMorran Place. It features eight flat screen televisions that will be tuned to the Icehawks game and other sports, as well as food and a full bar. Food and beverage are available for purchase. After games, Icehawks players and staff will be on hand to meet fans.

A D.J. will be in the lounge providing entertainment all night long, and prizes will be raffled off throughout the season.

"The lounge's grand opening was a great success," Icehawks Vice President/Business Manager Dave Goetze said. "We hope opening earlier will serve the fans even better and allow us to create a great atmosphere at the arena before, during and after all Icehawks games."

The Port Huron Icehawks will hold a special Halloween celebration this Saturday when they face the Dayton Gems at McMorran Arena.

The game is set for a late 8 p.m. start in order to accommodate trick or treaters. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. Kids in costume will receive a ticket for just $5 and will be invited to take part in an on-ice costume parade. Kids who participate will go home with a free treat bag and a free kid's meal from the game's sponsor, Buffalo Wild Wings. A balloonist will also be on hand to create one-of-a-kind creations.

Single game tickets for all Icehawks home games are on sale now at the McMorran Arena Box Office, any Ticket Master location or by phone. For more information, call 810-966-3800.
